The team you will be a part of
The Software Engineering team designs, develops or coordinates development/troubleshooting or debugging of moderately complex software programs for enhancements and new products. Performs high-level design/modeling to convert stakeholder needs into software solutions. Develops software and tools in support of design, infrastructure and technology platforms. Determines hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design. Develops the architectural guidelines, specifications, and technical standards and communicates to stakeholders.
This role in summary
The Sr. Lead software engineer will play a key role in the development of embedded software platform(s) that will drive innovation for Whirlpool Smart Appliances across the full range of products developed by Whirlpool. These software platforms range from running RTOS at the low-end to running Embedded Android at the high-end.
Your responsibilities will include
Educational Qualification- B.Tech/BE or M.Tech/ME Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation/Computer
Experience Required- 10-15 years
Basic Qualification
10+ years of experience in embedded software development,
Expert in C programming
+ 5 year of experience developing using RTOS;
Deep experience in the software lifecycle, processes and best practices
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering / Software Engineering / Electronics, with adequate focus on embedded systems
Job details-
Be a technical lead member of the team that is responsible for designing and developing software platforms using state-of-art market RTOS environments to support rapid innovation and product development
Take ownership of designing, developing, and maintaining significant software components at system software or middleware layers
RTOS BSP including board bring-up, hardware debugging, and optimizing low-level OS features
Provide technical leadership and direction for team members
Investigate and apply emerging technologies and new design approaches
Develop and implement sound software development practices
Work in an Agile environment
Preferred skills and experiences
Basic knowledge of Java, C++ or Python
Experience working in Linux including work in one or major subsystems within the OS
Experience with debuggers such as gdb, lldb, etc.
Experience working with the Linux open-source community is highly desired
Familiarity with standard hardware protocols (USB, UART, SPI, I2C, PCIe, MIPI, HDMI, DDR)
Excellent problem-solving skills, especially debugging of complex software systems
Deep understanding of full product development lifecycle
