Job Summary
The Senior Human Resources Consultant provides consultative human resources partnership to business leaders and managers while enhancing the employee and manager experience in support of organizational performance improvement. The position works closely with managers and leaders in designated geographies and provides consultative HR solutions support and process knowledge advice working collaboratively with the COEs and HRBPs to influence and execute HR processes and initiatives. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas, including, but not limited to: coaching managers for performance, learning & development (L&D), performance and career management, new hire onboarding, off-boarding, employee relations, policy implementation, organizational change and employment law compliance. As a member of the HR Field Team, this role serves on the HR front lines in support of the business. This position reports to the Regional HR Leader. #LI-DB1
Responsibilities
• Functions as a highly experienced generalist in a variety of HR activities, including consulting with and coaching managers, HR program rollout and support, training and development, recruitment activities, immigration, employee engagement and retention, employee relations/investigations, orientation, exit interviews, policy maintenance (outside of those owned by COEs), audit management and support and union relations (where applicable)
• Provides implementation/rollout and consultative management support for annual HR programs (performance management, compensation planning, engagement survey, training, etc.)
• Provides consultative support and guidance to managers (performance consulting, career coaching, personal matters at work)
• Ensures headcount aligns with AOP workforce plans
• Consultative talent acquisition support with offer analyses, selection process for recruitment of key positions, and coaching for workforce DE&I goal outcomes
• Resolves employee issues; lead employee relations initiatives, support of grievances/disciplinary actions and investigations to support a positive and fair work environment
• Supports change management related to the implementation of organizational effectiveness solutions and HRs transformation through providing information and transition employees to receive HR services through systems (on-line or through global services)
• Maintain ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations including local government reporting and requirements (AAP, EEO-1, VETS 100 etc.)
• Creates and maintains filing systems, both physical and electronic, and ensure proper maintenance of confidential employee information
• Coordinates local events and may support cafeteria management, security, medical services, transportation management, purchased services, general affairs, travel management (where applicable)
• May support integration activities for newly acquired businesses
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications / Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (PHR/SPHR or equivalent Certification preferred)
• Minimum 8 years of related experience (preferably in HR Generalist role)
• Demonstrates strong knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to the HR function
• Strong knowledge and understanding of HR processes and systems (Success Factors Employee Central preferred)
• Strong consultative coaching skills required
• Ability to independently exercise judgment in complex situations
• Strong ability to negotiate and influence throughout the organization up to the executive level
• Strong analytical skills with ability to analyze data and draw independent conclusions
• Employment based immigration knowledge preferred
• Strong customer service orientation with ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Strong presentation skills
• Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, high volume work environment
• Some travel may be required
