You will lead teams of highly skilled engineers, technicians, and leaders, empowering and equipping them to succeed in all aspects of Tooling Engineering scope including design, operational support, maintenance, integration with production systems, and engineering configuration management. The Sr. Director of Tooling Engineering is also responsible for development and deployment of the systems and processes required to execute all team and program deliverables related to tooling.The Tooling Engineering team's role is critical in the support of Blue's operational, manufacturing, and launch goals. We are looking for a Sr. Director to bring technical expertise, guidance, personnel development, team support, informed decision making, leadership, and a passion for Our Mission, to drive Tooling Engineering team success.Responsibilities Include:Leadership of multi-site, multidiscipline, Tooling Engineering teams in execution of complete tooling lifecycle management including design, maintenance, operational support, and integration with production/operational processesDevelopment/deployment of systems, processes, resources, and documentation, to facilitate tooling lifecycle managementDevelopment of key performance indicators and tooling objectives in support of Blue Origin company goals and milestones.Planning and management of Tooling Engineering staffing, budget, resources, and schedules, in support of operational, production, and organizational requirementsProvide Tooling Engineering input in corporate/program level strategy, planning, and decision makingOwnership of Tooling Engineering risks and opportunities including incorporation of strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunitiesCommunication to Blue Origin Sr. leadership regarding tooling engineering scope and deliverablesSupport and development of Tooling Engineering leaders to enable successful execution of team scope and promote a culture of ownership and delivering results.Qualifications:Minimum BS Degree in engineering or related discipline10+ years relevant industry experience in engineering, manufacturing, operations or maintenance5+ years' experience in tooling design, fabrication, integration, and commissioning, in support of manufacturing, assembly, and/or test5+ years' relevant experience with industrial maintenance and reliability including preventative and predictive maintenanceExperience leading large multi-disciplined technical teamsThorough understanding of engineering gated design process and fabrication managementThorough understand of Reliability Centered Maintenance practices and lifecycle asset managementExperience planning staffing, budget, and resources, for a multidiscipline team, in support of production, manufacturing, and/or test deliverablesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusionMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylumDesired:15+ years relevant industry experience in engineering, manufacturing, operations, or maintenanceExperience leading multidiscipline teams across multiple geographic locationsProfessio
