Description
Robert Half Management Resources is recruiting for a Senior Accountant to support our non-profit client on a month engagement, based in Los Angeles. The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Controller and will play a critical role in updating the company's fixed asset register post construction project and preparing the form 571-L. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a strong understanding of GAAP accounting and has working experience maintaining a fixed asset register.
Review Construction in Progress (CIP) account to identify costs by vendor - delineate between hard and soft costs
Review all spend by vendor and sort into categories (Land, Buildings, Furniture Fixtures, Equipment, Leasehold Improvements, Tools)
Prepare the 571-L form and add all fixed assets to the register - Sage software
Work with the Controller to allocate the soft costs (ex. permits, architecture) from CIP amongst the various fixed assets that were built within that project
Update the Chart of Accounts in the fixed asset software (SAGE) and reconcile to the general ledger
Requirements
• Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, such as a Senior Accountant.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential for this position (i.e. Sum-if, Look-ups, Pivots)
• Demonstrated experience in Fixed Asset Accounting is required.
• Mastery of Fixed Asset Additions is crucial for this role.
• Candidates should have a solid understanding of Fixed Asset Depreciation.
• Skill and experience in managing Fixed Asset Ledger is necessary.
• Familiarity with maintaining and updating Fixed Asset Register is expected.
• Knowledge and experience in using Fixed Asset System is a must.
