The SQL Developer will ensure the stability, integrity & efficient operation of new & legacy SQL data, jobs & scripts used by the Application Development & Infrastructure Support teams. The successful candidate will leverage, develop & strengthen their SQL Server experience as teams continue to bring new applications online and modernize legacy ones.Responsibilities
Provide technical expertise in the design, development, implementation & support of Microsoft SQL Server objects & scripts*Deliver & maintain SQL Server-based solutions for project teams*Make modifications & enhancements to existing applications for error correction, breaking changes (updates) and to improve overall function & performance*Plan, coordinate & manage migration of legacy SQL Server data objects*Oversee SQL Server support, monitoring & scheduling for enterprise*Develop a good working relationship with a wide range of stakeholders to support the design & implementation of new solutions that leverage SQL Server objects*Interpret business requirements to design, build & test processes that ensure high quality data & optimal system performance*Independently research & make recommendations for improvements to enhance methodology, capability, ease-of-use & efficiency*Participate & provide support to Enterprise architecture design & roadmap*Help our over 7,000 associates & 300 locations serve our customers in the best way possible, by supporting them & the technology they use in store - come make an impact!*Coordinate projects with managers & IT Teams*Collaborate with peers and work on multiple projects in a dynamic & fast-paced environmentQualifications
*Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent experience*3+ years' experience analyzing & developing in SQL (e.g. queries, stored procedures)*1+ years' experience working with and developing in .NET languages (C#, VB)*Experience w/standard Microsoft SQL Server operations (e.g. design schema, create relational databases & tables, modify & run stored procedures)*Skilled at analyzing existing SQL Server objects (e.g. SQL queries, stored procedures, DTS/SSIS scripts, scheduled jobs)*Experience with Microsoft Windows scripting languages (VB script, PowerShell)*Familiarity with software development concepts (e.g. architecture, refactoring, migrations)*Full software development lifecycle (SDLC) & change management experience*Experience creating technical documentation (SOW & use cases)*Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal & problem-solving skills*Strong verbal & written communication skills*Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team*Enthusiastic to learn new technologies required for project requirements*Ability to work in a fast-paced & deadline-oriented environment*Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines & reporting
