JOB SUMMARY: The purpose of the SQL Server Database Administrator position is to be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems. This position will also ensure the continuous availability and security of data, monitor system health and performance, and provide continuous support for our production systems. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: Create and maintain ETL processes. Design and implement new database servers. Configure and maintain database servers and processes. Provide support and consultation to the application development team. Administer user access and permissions. Document database policies, procedures, and standards. Monitor and optimize database performance. Troubleshoot and resolve database issues in real time. Perform backup and recovery operations. Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities. Other duties may be assigned. QUALIFICATIONS The qualifications listed below are representative of the elements required to perform the job successfully, however in some cases, an equivalent combination of Education, Training, Certifications and Experience may meet the job qualifications. Education, Training, Certifications: Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience, required. Experience, Knowledge, Skill Requirements: Experience with performance tuning, index management, statistics, and integrity checks, required. Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize, preferred. Communication Skills: Must have the ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English with employees and customers. Systems and Software Skills: Proficient in SQL Server administration, T-SQL, and Windows Server, required. Knowledge of high-availability and disaster recovery options for SQL Server, required. Working knowledge of Azure and DB cloud based strategies, required. Familiarity with BI technologies, required. Other Qualifications: Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record require . Must be able to comply with SFPH's Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer specific requirements based on contractual agreement Occasional travel required, up to 30%. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit for long periods. Employee will occasionally be required to bend, kneel, balance, lift <20lb, walk, stand, ascend/descend stairs, drive, twist, and reach above and below shoulders. Work Environment: Employee will consistently be required to work indoors in an office setting, work alone and with others. Office settings are mild to moderate temperatures.
