The Speech Therapist workscollaboratively with a multidisciplinary team in the areas of educationand consultation regarding patient care needs in accordance to themission and vision of Gundersen Health System as an outpatient,inpatient, and swing bed facility. Major Responsibilities 1. Works withpatient and families to examine, evaluate, diagnose, prognose whileproviding individualized intervention and education utilizing taskanalysis based on identified learning needs of the patient to ensureoptimal patient care. 2. Interacts and practices in collaboration with avariety of professions, communicates value of speech therapy services.3. Responsible for completing documentation according to establisheddepartmental standards to enhance effective patient care and properreimbursement. 4. Meets standards of practice according to federal,state, and professional association guidelines. 5. Maintains andachieves proficiency in departmental competencies. 6. Teaches andcounsels individuals, families, groups, and community. 7. Participatesin departmental and multidisciplinary review of process, treatment, orsystems issues for quality improvement initiatives. 8. Pursues relevanteducational opportunities to maintain or enhance professional knowledgeand meet departmental needs. May be responsible for coordinating andoverseeing speech-language pathology student education as requested bysupervisor. 9. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Educationand Learning: REQUIRED Master\'s Degree in Speech-Language PathologyWork Experience: REQUIRED No experience required DESIRED 1-3 years ofexperience in medical adult/geriatric Speech-Language Pathology. Videofluoroscopic swallow study training/experience. License andCertifications: REQUIRED Speech Language Pathology License in state ofpractice. ASHA Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-LanguagePathology within 18 months of hire after 1 year fellowship. CurrentInfant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (with hands onlearning) from one of the following programs; American Heart Associationor American Red Cross.
