  Job Summary:

As a vital member of our asset management team and with direct impact on company profitability, the Specialist, Operations Equipment will work closely with senior management on long-term equipment purchasing strategies that ensures network capacity requirements are met both now and in the future across all business enterprises and will share responsibility for the ongoing development and implementation of our asset management principles and practices. This position reports to the Manager, Operations Equipment, with the Sr. Director, Linehaul and Operations Equipment's support in all aspects.   Maintain practical knowledge, historical database, technical and functional characteristics on assigned support equipment

  In collaboration with senior leadership team, studies equipment life cycles, failure trends, removal forecasts, driver staffing and provides recommendations in support of capital expenditures for all equipment types.

  Analyzes program data; recognizes issues and trends; identifies options, consequences and develops conclusions and recommendations; prepares complex statistical reports and makes presentations.

  Monitors companywide equipment levels and distribution to support variable business levels while maintaining equipment balance within the operations network.

  Utilizes GPS Fleet tracking and other telematics dashboards to aid in equipment utilization and help develop cost saving initiatives

  Assists in the management of Fleet Services maintenance / retrofitting campaigns and deployment of new technologies.

  Develops and recommends asset management policy and strategy to minimize total cost of ownership, increase reliability and meet performance standards throughout the organization.

  Supports strategic planning and prioritization and oversees use of specialized equipment in the field locations.

  Investigate and follow up with terminals regarding missing equipment, equipment imbalances and unauthorized moves

  Establish and maintain relationships with Operations’ colleagues nationwide demonstrating the ability to listen, understand and promptly offer recommendations and solutions, for equipment-related concerns or requests

  Regular attendance is required.

  Qualifications:

  Two years’ experience in the transportation or logistics industry is preferred. Should be familiar with various tractor and trailing equipment types as well as material handling equipment.

  Must process strong analytical skills and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs with exceptional proficiency in Excel

  Experience with Sequel Viewpoint, SQL, VBA or other database systems a huge plus.

  A detail–oriented deadline driven individual capable of and dedicated to investigating operational issues from a multifaceted business process and technical perspective

  Ability to combine inputs from a variety of internal and external stakeholders along with their own observations to formulate and recommend a business outcome and action plan

  Must possess superior interpersonal and communication skills to include the ability to present with confidence and prepare executive summaries that are concise and complete

  Ability to learn and implement the Estes Express Lines family culture

  Must be able to lift approximately 20 lbs., or more if required by the essential functions of the job

  Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct

  Must be able to interact well with others

  Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting

  Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities

  Responds well to questions; Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines

  Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check

  Must be authorized to work in the United States
