Job Description
Specialist I, Quality Control is responsible for the second personreview of selected data generated in the laboratory. The Quality ControlSpecialist must be sensitive to the demanding regulatory compliancerequirements attending to the operation of a pharmaceutical testinglaboratory. This position presents the employee with an opportunity tocontribute first-hand to the process of providing quality data to theSGS customer base.
Perform special project data review following staff performance ofcustomer test requests in a timely and effective manner. Customertest requests include wet chemistry, instrumentation, and/ormicrobiological data reviewsPerform reviews for reagent and standard preparations and theirassays or suitability testing and/or media preparation andassociated media checksPerform equipment performance logs reviews, auxiliary log bookreviews, stability study pull reviews, audit trail reviews, andmetrology reviewsPerform Out of Specification (OOS) and Method Validation Failure(MVF) wet chemistry and/or microbiology investigations followingstaff performance of customer test requests in a timely andeffective mannerEnsure that all testing submitted by customers is completed withinestablished parameters governing Company quality and regulatorycompliance specificationsEnsure that all reasonable requests from Department Management onthe review of laboratory data supporting a given test or group oftests are met in a timely and effective mannerPlay a role in Departmental or company-wide projects designed toimprove the internal efficiency and overall quality of workperformed at the laboratoryParticipate in creating and maintaining an atmosphere of teamworkthroughout the laboratoryMaintain thorough knowledge and understanding of all StandardOperating Procedures (SOPs) of the review processMaintain thorough knowledge and understanding of GMP/GLP/ISOrequirements as these pertain to work performed in the laboratoryMay be invited to participate in the preparation and review processfor appropriate department SOPs, worksheets, and data formsParticipation in general staff training sessions as is scheduledQualifications
Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, orequivalent.Thorough knowledge of scientific principles.
