Your Impact:
We are looking for a Special Systems and Electrical Construction Inspector to support our vertical building work at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. To ensure success in this role, you will apply your knowledge of engineering fundamentals and safety regulations to ensure the project being constructed in full compliance with contract documents.
You will be inspecting building electrical systems including conduit, wiring, panel boards, transformers, medium voltage, low voltage, temporary power, permanent power, coordinating shut downs, and other electrical systems
You will be inspecting building data and communications systems including security, cameras, power monitoring, DDC, fire alarm, voice paging system, data, wifi, video wall, communications rooms, cable trays, conduit, testing, network switches, coordinating shutdowns, elevator/escalator monitoring and other special systems. You’ll be working under the direction of a Resident Engineer, you will assume the following functional responsibilities:
Perform quality assurance inspections to achieve compliance with contract plans and specifications on the special systems and electrical systems installation work.
Monitor and inspect the work of contractors to ensure proper construction methods are utilized.
Review plans, specifications, submittals, drawings, change orders, and Requests for Information for requirements of the construction contract to be applied in the field.
Prepare and maintain documentation including inspection logs, daily reports, digital photographic documentation, force accounts, materials testing, and other construction records.
Take or Verify field measurements/quantities for contract payments.
Update design plans/drawings based on changes that occur during actual construction; document reasons for change; and ensure drawings are an accurate representation of work actually performed.
Identify, document and track closure of contractor work that is out of compliance or deficient. Initiates Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) for action by the Resident Engineer.
Coordinate routine shutdown requests from contractors with customers, tenants and PORT department, which includes notification to all interested parties and obtaining required approvals/signatures. Issue Construction Advisory Forms.
Function productively in a fast-paced environment and participate as a team member coordinating daily activities or assignments.

Here's What You'll Need:
7+ years of experience with special systems and electrical inspection within vertical buildings in a campus environment.
Proficient in the use of computer application programs such as Word, Excel, construction management specific software, and others systems
Security Requirements – As the successful candidate, you must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check as well as a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Your employment will be contingent upon obtaining a Port of Seattle ID badge upon clearance.

Typical hourly rate for this position is $34.38 to $60.15 , and is commensurate with experience relative to the position.
