　　Special Process Welder Journeyman

　　Job Description:

　　Must possess the necessary skill sets to pass the pre-employment welding examination.

　　Applies technical knowledge and practical welding skills.

　　Assist in component installation, fit-up and alignment.

　　Must be familiar with the equipment required to perform Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) or Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) processes.

　　Verifies position of metal components in assembly, using straight edge, combination square, calipers, and rule.

　　Utilize conventional tools for preparation of welding and clean up. (Grinders, buffers, file, chipping hammer, etc.).

　　Tack-weld components to secure in position for welding.

　　Must be familiar with weld acceptance criteria and perform front line examination of the welding work performed.

　　Adheres to all safety procedures.

　　Test #1: Bechtel WPS P1-AT-Lh, GTAW(TIG)/SMAW(STICK), in the 6G test position, performed on (2” pipe 2.75” OD x 0.625“) thick carbon steel pipe coupons, radiographic examination. ER70S-6 / E7018

　　Test #2: Bechtel WPS P1-T, GTAW(TIG), in the 6G test position, performed on (2” 2.75” OD x 0.625”) thick carbon steel pipe coupons, radiographic examination. ER70S-6

　　Test #5: Bechtel WPS P8-T-Ag, GTAW(TIG), in the 6G test position, (2” x 0.109” (Sch. 10S) thick stainless steel pipe coupons, visual examination for proficiency only. ER316L
