Scope:Sonographer responsibilities:Produce high quality ultrasound images and obtain appropriate measurements foreach exam.Recognize the sonographic appearance of normal and abnormal tissue structuresand provide the best image quality for documentation.Document all applicable patient and procedure data consistently and correctly.Obtain and evaluate pertinent patient history and physical findings that mayaffect the sonographic examination.Explain procedures adequately to patients to maximize patient comfort andcooperation.Monitor during all phases of procedure with special care taken to insurepatient emotional and physical well-being.Communicate patient information in a professional and courteous manner topatients and to referring physician offices as required.
Requirements:Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Sonography program, requiredMinimum of one (1) current/valid certification from the followinglist, required:Registry-eligibleAmerican Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) certificationwith Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), requiredRegistered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) credentialMinimum of two (2) years of related sonography experience, required
