  Summary:

  The Superintendent - Electrical – Solar is responsible for coordinating the site electrical construction schedule, execution plan, and managing the daily issues involved during the construction of solar generation project. This position coordinates all electrical site construction activities and supervises all electrical field personnel as required to successfully complete the solar project on schedule and within budget. The Superintendent - Electrical - Solar works diligently to build a safe, high quality, profitable solar project.

  Requirements :

  Provides excellence in the management and delivery of the project, in-line with the client’s expectations.

  Maintains positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees.

  Manages landowner expectations, concerns, and Right of Way access.

  Provides information about site activities including accurate install rates for electrical discipline, projected task completion and hazards to the Construction Manager.

  Schedules and ensures appropriate staffing for daily construction activities with employees.

  Identifies potential schedule changes, workflow, and staffing issues.

  Maintains electrical construction schedule, identifies upcoming issues, and solves problems.

  Orders materials and schedules inspections as necessary throughout the process.

  Understands the project plans and specifications.

  Prepares schedules and supervises completion of a final electrical punch list.

  Ensures that transmission line structures - including all foundations and required access - are built as per specification.

  Ensures site prep work is executed as per contracts, design, and specification.

  Inputs into the execution of overall construction plan.

  Reviews the engineer's drawings prior to beginning construction to ensure that the project can be built in a safe and reliable manner.

  Builds and maintains relationship with local AHJ as needed.

  Manages quality control program to ensure processes are implemented according to the design of the project and are consistent.

  Maintains an organized job site, including in the onsite construction office.

  Manages QA for electrical construction.

  Manages design change notices.

  Manages subcontractor contracts to ensure compliance.

  Manages the electrical material on site.

  Manages Safety of electrical crews to the highest level.

  Provides the required electrical documents, drawings, and other forms to active projects for monitoring and maintaining the EMS.

  Ensures all completion of all required permitting activities before commencement of work.

  Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.

  Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and Company Policies & Procedures.

  Qualifications:

  High School Diploma/GED required.

  Must have 4+ years of Solar construction environment or Utility Construction environment.

  Advanced level of knowledge in:

  Safety and OSHA requirements

  LOTO implementation & Management

  Electrical installation experience

  Interpretation of a project schedule

  Planning and task direction

  Adaptability to environment

  Working in fast paced environment

  Interpretation of scopes of work

  Project permits

  Decision making

  Understanding environmental concepts including permit requirements

  Interpreting state rules and regulations

  Contract management

  Sub-contractor and vendor and materials management

  Electrical Construction drawing review

  Electrical Drawing Quantity Takeoff

  Reporting

  Intermediate level of knowledge in:

  Project Management

  Creating logical and resource-loaded project schedules

  Budget Analysis and controls

  Estimating work efforts

  Change orders

  QA/QC processes

  Development of processes and procedures

  Continuous Improvement such as Lean, Six Sigma, Total Quality Management

  Project Finance

  Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PPT, Outlook, Visio)

  Job Costing or accounting software

  Basic level of knowledge in:

  Engineering Management

  Scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera 6)

  Proficient in construction in both electric substations (energized and green field) and transmission lines

  Manages one or more direct reports.

  Participates in hiring and selection process to fill positions on the team.

  Communicates regularly with direct reports on goals, accomplishments, and information on policies.

  Demonstrates leadership and expertise in eyes of client group.

  Provides tasks and assignments that challenge and stretch employees’ responsibilities.

  Conducts regular discussions with employee(s) on personal development. Comfortable with empowering others.

  Conducts timely, effective performance reviews in accordance with RES guidelines.

  Anticipated base salary range: $99,000- $125,000

  The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.

  Rarely: Climbing, crouching, and kneeling, stooping

  Occasionally: Carrying 5-15lbs., gripping, handling, pinching, pulling 31-50 lbs, pushing 31-50 lbs, and lifting 31-50 lbs are required.

  Frequently: Sitting, standing, and walking is required.

  Constantly: Reading, grasping, reaching, vision, repetitive motion, and hearing is required.

  Occasionally exposed to extreme cold, vibrations, extreme heat, humidity, and wet working conditions.

  Frequently exposed to noise and hazards.
