Job Description

　　The Immersive Production Technology (IPT) Group, part of Disney's Studio Technology, is looking for a skilled and passionate software engineer who will focus on working on backend services that power our cutting-edge XR tools to help augment our production team workflows.

　　This person will help IPT to realize its strategic mission of creating and acquiring immersive tech to facilitate modern filmmaking while developing XR experiences for the future of storytelling.

　　To be successful in this role, you must be curious, innovative, a quick learner, and have a strong understanding of the key technologies that will drive and advance the ideation, production, distribution and presentation of Disney content and experiences. As part of this, you will work seamlessly with key internal stakeholders and external innovation partners. You'll also work with other engineering teams across production technology to integrate our technology into existing workflows and applications. You need to have solid communication abilities and work well in complex cross-functional teams. An ability to be flexible and work in a dynamic and extremely fast-paced environment to meet the needs of our business are critical to success.

　　Responsibilities:

　　Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Golang, integrating SQL databases, and implementing robust APIs.

　　Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement comprehensive architecture, ensuring seamless API interactions and database integration.

　　Optimize and enhance existing systems for performance, reliability, and efficient API communication.

　　Design and implement RESTful APIs, ensuring they meet industry standards for security, scalability, and usability.

　　Troubleshoot and debug complex issues, ensuring high-quality code delivery.

　　Work with other engineers with differing levels fo skill sets, fostering a culture of continuous learning.

　　Scope: client is building a custom, internal asset management/3D model Catalog that will be used by Disney creatives across all banners(ILM, Pixar, Marvel, Lucas, Disney Animation/Live-Action, 20th Century Fox/Searchlight). Having a centralized search engine for the creatives/shows to leverage in the film-making process. This will also be available on Apple Vision Pro that Disney has a partnership with.

　　Skills and Requirements

　　Proven experience as a Backend Engineer, with a strong emphasis on Golang, SQL, and expertise in designing and implementing RESTful APIs

　　Proficiency with SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL - preferred, MySQL) and database optimization techniques.

　　Strong understanding of microservices architecture and containerization (Kubernetes).

　　3 to 5 years of experience hands on experience: Golang-Must have and being utilized in this environment

　　AWS

　　Location: onsite role; 4 days onsite in Burbank at the Studio Lot

　　Kubernetes-important to have

　　Back end Engineering and this is not full stack

　　Role involves Databases and API's

　　Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

　　Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience. - Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

　　Knowledge of distributed systems and message queues (e.g., Kafka).

　　Passion for staying updated with industry trends and emerging technologies.

　　Contribution to open-source projects or a strong GitHub profile

　　Azure is not required but nice to have

　　Nice to have graphical program experience with gaming null
