  Summary

  The primary function of this Software Engineering (P3) role is the development of applications and scripts to support Non-Destructive Test (NDT) and Metrology systems used for inspections for aerospace components. The person in this role is also responsible for requirements planning, design, development, debug, and test of new and existing inspection software. Image and data analysis are also a component of this role to support processing of inspections. This is a great opportunity to work in a small cohesive team of dedicated professionals who value teamwork and continuous learning.

  Key Responsibilities:

  Review customer requirements to understand and document project scope and intent.

  Create and enhance 2D and Volumetric inspection processing software.

  Develop algorithms to enhance automation and reduce image review requirements.

  Perform image analysis on inspection data as needed to support the business needs.

  Document, design, develop and implement inspection software and related process utilities.

  Adherence to operational, safety and emergency procedures

  Basic Qualifications:

  Advanced degree and 3+ years Quality or Engineering experience; OR Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience.

  U.S. citizenship is required for this position; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access and handle sensitive data required to support our government and military programs.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Computer Science or Software Engineering degrees preferred.

  Software development experience with C# and Python.

  Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems, Metrology, and AS9100.

  Professional use of Microsoft Office and standard business software.

  Excellent organization and administrative skills.

  This role is:

  Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. This means that responsibilities of the job need to be performed onsite on a regular basis.

  Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

  This requisition is eligible for an employee referral award. ALL eligibility requirements must be met to receive the referral award.

  The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

  Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

  Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

  This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
