The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team can provide you the opportunity to build and operate a suite of massive-scale, integrated cloud services in a broadly distributed, multi-tenant cloud environment. The Oracle Cloud Migration (OCM) service team is building an OCI native service to enable customers to migrate their data and application workloads to OCI from on-prem environments, and other clouds.We are looking for software engineers who are ready to tackle new challenges in maintaining and developing highly available and scalable migration platforms.

As a member of this team, you will be improving our service infrastructure, and delivering the platform using the latest technologies on OCI. You will partner with the product team, learn about the existing challenges, and influence the vision and direction. You will execute the entire software lifecycle – development, testing, CI/CD, and production operations. You must balance between product feature development and production operational concerns like writing run books, ops automation, structured logging, instrumentation for metrics, and events leveraging a plethora of internal tooling at OCI.

Responsibilities

About You :

You are an experienced cloud engineer with a proven track record of delivering high-scale, high-impact solutions

You are obsessed with the customer, always exceeding expectations

You have excellent communication skills. You can clearly explain complex technical concepts

You are a disciplined engineer who understands the importance of high standards, never satisfied with mediocrity and constantly striving for excellence

You are comfortable with ambiguity in a chaotic and fluid environment

You are passionate about technology and are not afraid to defend your opinions or position with peers/superiors

Minimum Qualifications

2+ years of backend software development experience

BS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience

Working knowledge in Java, C++, C#, or similar OO languages

Working experience on GitHub/Bitbucket, TeamCity/Hudson, Maven/Gradle

Experience with at least one scripting language for automating tasks, proof of concept work, or command line tools

Experience developing customer-focused architectures and restful web services

Preferred Qualifications

Hands-on experience developing services on a public cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, Oracle)

Hands-on experience building and operating tools and dashboards with large data pipelines

Experience participating security reviews, documentation, UX reviews, and working with Product Managers through the entire launch process

Work with large volumes of data and logging

Understanding of key performance indicators and how to dig into them

Experience and understanding of multi-AD/AZ and regional data centers

Building continuous integration/deployment pipelines with robust testing and deployment schedules

Experience working with internal customers and translating requests into prioritized work or features

Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident of United States.

US: Hiring Range: from $62,100 to $158,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
