  Job Description

  Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

  Responsibilities

  Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

  As a Principal Member of Technical Staff you will own end to end software design and development for major components of Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure. You should be both a rock solid coder and a distributed systems generalist with immaculate hands on experience in designing large scale distributed systems which can elastically scale. You should be able to dive deep into any part of the stack and low level systems, as well as design broad distributed system interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.

  Minimum Qualifications:

  7+ years experience in delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems.

  Expert in C/C++ and Java, and experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, etc.

  Expert knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems and distributed systems fundamentals.

  Working familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures.

  Working familiarity in QEMU, KVM, Storage Virtualization, iSCSI, NVMe over TCP, Paravirtualized volumes is highly desired.

  Strong in troubleshooting and performance tuning skills. Strong experience in debugging complex distributed running software with help of distributed logging, observability metrics and provide quick resolutions to pressing issues in production.

  Strong understanding of REST APIs, cloud design patterns, databases, NoSQL systems, storage and distributed persistence technologies.

  Experience to mentor, guide team members, play technical leadership role, collaborate across teams to evolve design, set up best practices for team and lead with example.

  Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

  As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

  Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.

  Hiring Range: from $94,200 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

  Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

  Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

  11 paid holidays

  Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
