　　Job Responsibilities

　　Serves as Child Protection Assistant; drives or travels with ChildProtection Specialist staff to homes to assist in investigations ofcomplaints regarding child abuse and neglect; provides assistance to theChild Protection Specialist as they conduct interviews with children andfamilies; assists Child Protection Specialists with ensuring the safetyof children being transported by the use of seatbelts and/orage-appropriate care seats for each minor; transports children broughtinto the Departments care to their necessary evaluations (e.g. medical)at the direction of the Child Protection Specialist or Child ProtectionInvestigations Team Supervisor

　　Observes children and reports to the Child Protection Specialist anyunusual behavior relating to the mental, social adjustment, and overallhealth of children; reports to the Child Protection Specialist and/orsupervisor any communication with children resulting in disclosure ofabuse and neglect

　　Communicates to clients services available through DCFS and privateagencies

　　Organizes and maintains automotive records and materials, includingmileage, maintenance, and expenses; monitors and tracks maintenance ofauto to ensure it is a safe and clean means of transportation for homeremoval of children

　　Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonablywithin the scope of the duties enumerated above
