Job Overview
The Sleep Technician 1 is an entry level role, receiving training andguidance in the performance of polysomnographic diagnostic and therapeutictesting and analysis to assist sleep clinicians with the diagnosis andtreatment of sleep disorders and sleep related breathing disorders.

Qualifications
EDUCATION - High School Diploma or equivalent, completion of a BRPTaccredited sleep education program.CERTIFICATION(S) - Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 6 months.LICENSURE - Must obtain RPSGT or RRT-SDS credential within 18 months of startdate.

These examples do not include all of thefunctions which the employee may be expected to perform.Under instruction and close supervision, educates and interacts withpatients and their families during the course of care; interviews patientand family to obtain information needed to complete pre-test paperwork.Participates in the set up and calibration of monitoring equipment.Under instruction, performs patient set-up and monitors patient'sphysiological response during routine testing.Assists in the initiation and titrate therapy (supplemental oxygen and/ornasal positive airway pressure) based upon physician's orders andestablished sleep center protocols.Build and maintains strong working relationships with multidisciplinaryhealthcare providers to provide individualized patient/family care andeducation.Ensures compliance with American Association of Sleep Medicine (AASM)standards and Children's Colorado (CHCO) quality standards.Participates in on-the-job training activities working alongside higher levelsleep technicians.
