NAU School of Nursing (SoN) is growing and seeking individualspassionate about nursing education and simulation to join our team. OurSimulationist works closely with faculty content experts and programleaders to develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate simulation-basededucation in our nursing programs. The Simulationist will act as bothsimulation educator and facilitator. They will facilitate the operationof the nursing simulation lab, overseeing the preparation, maintenance,inventory, and operation of nursing simulation equipment/supplies. Theyare responsible for ensuring best practices for simulation and safe,quality outcomes in the learning environment. Must have a Master\'sdegree in Nursing or Healthcare related field to apply.
Simulation Lab Educator - 60%
Develop simulation curricula to support program and course outcomes.Conduct debriefing within scope of knowledge or assist contentexpert with debriefing.Incorporate best practice and evidenced-based research in programdevelopment with a focus on standardization and efficiencies acrossthe healthcare continuum.Coordinate the set up and maintenance of computer-based trainingprograms for simulation.Coordinate and supervise the general operation of the simulationlaboratory to provide a wide variety of patient simulationexperiences.Provide recommendations for equipment and supply purchasesanticipating future changes in technology.Participate in program and curriculum review; offering suggestionsconcerning the improvement of curriculum in keeping with the missionand vision of the College.Direct Lab Support and Maintenance - 25%
Oversee the set up and take down of simulation laboratoryequipment - allowing for turnover of the simulation lab set up asnecessary to accommodate multiple groups.Oversee the regular maintenance and repair all simulation equipment,including:Human patient simulators (HPS), computers, monitors and avariety of clinical medical equipment.Audiovisu l and debriefing systems.Communicate effectively with manufacturers regarding warranty,maintenance, repair, update, and technology changes.Coordinate upgrades to software and equipment as needed.Provide technical support for task trainers (skills lab) andmultimedia peripherals including, but not limited to:Beds/examination tables, headwalls, patient monitors, and otherhealth care equipment.Medication dispensing systems.Vital sign monitors.Organize and restock simulation laboratory supplies.Divisional Administrative Support - 10%
Facilitate tours of simulation lab when needed.Prepare and submit instructional records, reports, grades, and allother required paperwork in a timely, efficient manner meeting alldeadlines, checking for accuracy, correctness and completeness ofall data.Exert an effort to remain current in discipline and instructionalmethods through professional development activities offered by theCollege and other opportunities including attendance at off-campusactivities, webinars, etc., as feasible.Serve on the SoN Simulation Committee.Participate in discipline, departmental, divisional, andinstitutional meetings, and other announced co-curricular activitiesof the College.\
