Job Purpose: This position drives the company ownedtruck and delivers parts between branches and to drop boxes along aregular route and schedule. Responsibilities: Perform accurate delivery& distribution of freight to Fabick branches and drop boxes. Maintaingood working relations with all Fabick branch facilities. RepresentFabick Cat in a safe and professional manner while in transit. Notifycompany supervisors and mechanics of vehicle problems. Perform routinevehicle maintenance such as regulating tire pressure and addinggasoline, oil, and water. Record the name, date, and freight informationon trip sheets, along with trip information such as time and place ofpickup and drop-off. Complete accident reports when necessary. Checkvehicles before driving them to ensure that mechanical, safety, andemergency equipment is in good working order. Maintain logs of workinghours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicablestate and federal regulations. Obtain receipts or signatures when loadsare delivered. Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it iscomplete and accurate. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloadingpositions, following signals from loading crew as needed; check thatvehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment isproperly positioned. Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks,chain, binders, and/or covers. Read bills of lading to determineassignment details. Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic...
