Key Responsibilities

Disassemble, inspect, repair, and rebuild construction hoist elevators (man and material lifts).

Fabricate and install new parts as needed to meet specifications.

Perform MIG welding.

Use oxy-acetylene or plasma torches for cutting metal with precision.

Operate drill presses, grinders, and other machinery to create holes and fittings.

Modify or replace structural components as needed.

Inspect finished work for accuracy, quality, and compliance with safety standards.

Adhere to company and regulatory safety guidelines, ensuring a safe work environment at all times.

Maintain tools, welding equipment, and shop machinery in good working condition.

Identify and report equipment repairs or maintenance needs.

Qualifications

Proficiency in welding (MIG) and torch cutting.

Experience using fabrication equipment such as drill presses, grinders, and saws.

Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.

2+ years of experience in metal fabrication, welding, or construction equipment refurbishment (preferred).

Knowledge of hoist elevators, lifts, or similar machinery is an asset.

Ability to lift 50 lbs or more and perform physical tasks such as bending, crouching, and standing for extended periods.

Comfortable working in a shop environment with heavy machinery and tools.

Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Commitment to safety and quality.

Valid driver’s license is an asset.
