  TheShift Supervisor, while working under the direct supervision of the Operations Manager, will be responsible for monitoring and controlling all plant systems on a continuous basis.This position will respond to alarms, by taking appropriate corrective actions, and execute approved plant shutdown and start-up procedures, to assure that the plant meets its safety, environmental and operational commitments while operating in a safe and environmentally efficient manner.

  Must be able to manage the supervision of watch personnel and others as needed.Supervises, monitors, trains, and develops performance of plant personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and productive operation of plant and equipment.Maintains appropriate communication lines with management, peers, and subordinates on a timely basis.Initiates emergency procedures when conditions warrant, to ensure the safety of personnel and the community, along with preventing damage to the plant and facility equipment.

  Strong computer skills and strong leadership ability is must.

  Shift Supervisors work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule that alternates between days and nightsand work about every other weekend, to include holidays, outage support, and vacation coverage.

  Position Requirements:To be considered for the position, the individual must have five years or more of directly related power industry experience with progressive technical and supervisory responsibilities and possess:

  Strong leadership and excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to problem solve and make good decisions.

  The capability to manage critical events and prioritize in an emergency, providing clear direction in operational, safety, and environmental tasks.

  The ability to manage operations crew personnel; work in closed quarters and confined spaces; climb ladders and structures; lift and carry up to 50 pounds; and tolerate heights and high temperatures.

  Thorough understanding, of the Auxiliary Operator and Control Room Operators' duties and responsibilities, and be capable of standing watch in any of these subsidiary positions.

  Education (Degrees, Certifications, Fields of Study)High school diploma/GEDAssociates Degree preferredExperience (Industry, Functional):Power plant experience is desiredOther industries desired: Refineries, Oil rigsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Experienced leading a team (at least 2-5 years of experience); must be able to train and develop plan personnelKnowledge of boiler, gas and steam turbines, pumps, valves, water treatment systems and condensersOther Requirements:(Include any requirements based on hours of work, shift work, special work conditions, physical demands, travel etc.)Shift Supervisors work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule that alternates between days and nightsand work about every other weekend, to include holidays, outage support, and vacation coverage.
