JOB REQUIREMENTS: The purpose of this position is to perform, service,cleanup of food preparation tasks for inmates of the Iowa CountySheriff\'s Office and any outside Contracts: Review menus, foodquantities, recipes, food inventory, and reviews and discusses servingprocedures and handling with Supervisor on a daily basis for breakfast,lunch, dinner and outside contract meals. -Performs food preparationtasks including advanced thawing meats, combines ingredients accordingto recipes and requires quantities, bakes items, cooks soups, preparesdesserts, etc. According to general and specific menus. -Maintains safefood handling and storage procedures and practice. Monitors and performscleaning duties including: food preparation surfaces, utensils,equipment pots, pans and trays. -Assists with receiving, inventory andstorage of food and dietary supplies. -Works as a team with co-workersand provides for resident needs to ensure resident satisfaction.Provides support for team members to ensure all tasks are completedcorrectly. Provides high standards in job performance to ensure qualityof care for all residents. -Prepare and serve meals that are palatable,and at proper temperatures. -Prepare food by methods that conservenutritive value. -Performs housekeeping tasks such as cleaning,sweeping, and mopping. Assist in cleanup of the kitchen and diningareas. -Prepare daily nourishments and/or supplements in accordance withguidelines sets out for inmate meals and/or outside contract agreements.-Prepare and assist in serving trays and meals. -Maintains safe cleaningprocedures. -Prepare meals for off cite contracted meal agreements.-Maintains indirect oversight of inmates helping within the KitchenSetting. -Must demonstrate regular and dependable attendance. -Performsother duties assigned. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:18 years of age. Preference for Associates degree or Technical Diplomain Culinary, Food Production or closely related field.
