The Service Operations Manager leads our Nebraska and Iowa teams responsible for performing service work for building automation, fire, life safety, or security systems. This role coordinates all activities for service agreements, service migration and installed projects, and Time Materials (TM) work to provide on-time delivery and ensure customer expectations and commitments are met.

This position will be based in Omaha, NE and also supports our Des Moines, IA / Cedar Rapids, IA offices.

As a Service Operations Manager, you will:

Oversee the hiring, supervision, training, and mentoring of service teams through goal setting, performance monitoring, employee review meetings, and scheduling of formal training

Manage revenue, gross margin, and absorption to achieve monthly and annual business plan projections and forecasts 

Drive expansion of chargeable opportunities, including TM, system upgrades, and service contracts, ensure quality assurance activities are completed, such as sales-to-service and projects-to-service turnover including final project walkthroughs, service agreement scope reviews, and final information turnover to inspection team

Support contract profitability through cost containment procedures and processes and ensure contract requirements are met and performed to a high standard  

Develop customer relationships and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction while ensuring effective and timely communications and determine technical labor loading and appropriate balance of talent to ensure proper resource coverage to meet customer needs  

Champion safety compliance by ensuring employees meet or exceed organization and customer safety requirements, ensure employees are properly trained on safety requirements and enforce adherence to organizational processes, tools, and workflow standards

Maintain excellent organizational and interpersonal skills 

You will make an impact with these qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:    

High school diploma or state-recognized GED

3+ years of experience supervising teams

On-the-job industry experience with strategic planning, contracting, project management, account management, and all aspects of general business management such as PL management

Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of financial reporting with ability to apply cost control measures  

Knowledge of HVAC, Building Automation Systems, Fire Alarms/Life Safety, Security Systems or similar industry

Experience using Microsoft Office 

Must be willing and able to travel 10%-20%, both day travel and overnight travel  

Verbal and written communication skills in English 

Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations  

Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:    

Associate or Bachelor’s degree

5+ years of experience supervising teams

The pay range for this position is $98,900 - $169,600 / year and the annual incentive target is 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
