OverviewThe Service Engineer performs preventive maintenance, routine repairs, and limited troubleshooting on laboratory equipment. Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new assignments.

N/A N/AInternal Classification:Non-TechnicalResponsibility* Uses professional concepts and company's policies and procedures to solve a limited range of minor issues in the lab in accordance with SOPs and under appropriate supervision.* Responsible for preventive maintenance, routine repair, and on call support of production laboratory equipment. Includes equipment relocation and reinstallation.* Communication and good documentation practices are followed.* Work is consistently best effort with intent on accurate and clear results.* Completes training for all applicable instruments.* Works on small well-defined projects, or projects that are part of a larger cross-functional initiatives. Qualifications* Meets one of the following education and experience requirements:* Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Biology, Computer Science, or related field or AS Degree with minimum 2 years of relevant experience or* Minimum 4 years of relevant experience or Minimum 1 year of internal experience with Myriad lab processes.* Hands-on experience with mechanical tools and instrumentation.* Demonstrated working understanding of or background in laboratory science preferred.* Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills.* Demonstrated ability to work in team-oriented environment while being able to finish assignments independently.* Basic understanding of the quality systems and demonstrates compliance with regulatory (FDA, ISO, CAP/CLIA) requirements for the work performed and regulatory guidelines.* Basic command-line proficiency, preferably with Python, to manipulate custom software integrations.Physical Requirements Lifting Requirements - medium work or exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds of force frequently, and 10 pounds of force consistently. Physical Requirements - stationary positioning, moving, operating, ascending/descending, communicating, observing, reaching, and repetitive motion. Use of equipment and tools necessary to perform essential job functions. Hazards and Atmospheric Conditions - exposure to fumes, dust, extreme temperatures, wet and/or humid, noise, vibration, mists or gases, mechanical hazards, chemical hazards, electrical hazards, and radiant energy hazards. OSHA category II - normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid, or tissue, but exposure or potential for exposure may occur. EEO
