THE ATTRACTION
Illuminarium Experiences is a digitally delivered, global experiential entertainment brand. Illuminarium creates, produces, markets, and manages immersive entertainment spectacles that are presented in custom-designed venues called “Illuminariums”. What museums are to art, cinemas to movies and concert halls to music, Illuminariums are to experiential entertainment. With venues of approximately 25,000 square feet and 20+ foot high ceilings, Illuminarium finds existing real estate and then custom designs the interiors, installing state of the art projection and sound systems. The result: Illuminariums become reprogrammable immersive theaters that surround visitors in a sensory space of 360x360 sight, sound and scale unlike any other.
THE ROLE
As a Café Server at Illuminarium Atlanta, you are responsible for delivering the ultimate experience for our guest. Illuminarium Café offers a unique food & beverage experience, inspired by ingredients and customs that align with the spectacle that is being shown within the attraction. This means guests can order local cuisine from Africa or unique cocktails inspired by the universe. Café Servers will utilize storytelling, introducing unique flavors that can be found on the menu and encourage guests to choose something they have never tried before. In addition to the operation of the café and outdoor patio, Illuminarium is a unique event destination, supported by the Café team. Café operational team members will be integral to the successful execution of our client’s events. At Illuminarium, we strive to democratize experiences and thus our team members need to be alert and observant, making every guest feel acknowledged and taken care of.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Follow all policies and procedures as outlined in the Food & Beverage SOP
Ensure proficient and up to date knowledge of all Illuminarium products, promotions and services
Maintain comprehensive and detailed understanding of Point of Sales systems and other utilized technologies
Engage guests by greeting them, advising on menu offerings and performing suggestive sales
Remain knowledgeable on menu items and specials particularly for guests with dietary restrictions
Coordinate with the back of house, ensuring high quality of food prepared; serve food and drinks to guests and, clear tables after use
Ensure that all orders are accurate and brought to the guest in a timely manner
Attend primary cash management and perform end of shift self-audit balance
Remain observant to and anticipate guests’ needs; ensure the café and patio areas are clean and inviting
Perform other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as required
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
All applicants must be at least 18 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; Associate Degree recommended
Minimum of 2 years’ guest facing, food service in a fast-paced, high volume environment; prior cash handling experience is required
Obtain and maintain current food handler’s certification
Ability to stand long hours, walk extended distances indoors & outdoors, lift and transport items weighing 10-20 pounds, occasionally 30 pounds. Support with event set up and tear down.
Ability to operate independently and with discretion and work effectively under pressure
Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned tasks including: constant reaching, bending, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time
Eye for detail; flexibility in daily tasks; problem solver, results oriented; commercially focused and self-motivated
Must assume responsibility for all monies at the assigned workstation
Ability to retain detailed information related to all Illuminarium products, promotions & services
Ability to communicate effectively with management, colleagues and guests, bi-lingual skills are preferred
Must be flexible to work extended hours including late nights, weekends and holidays
Practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies and procedures and regulations including but not limited to Legends’ COVID Preparedness Plan and Standard Operating Procedures, complete company-wide safety training and any additional job specific safety training.
Follow and encourage your team to follow all safety policies and procedures, looking for and reporting any unsafe work conditions, and complete company-wide safety training and any additional job specific safety training.
Report all safety incidents (injuries and illnesses) into the company’s risk management system (Origami Risk) on the same day that the safety incident has been reported to you.
