The work we do is interesting,challenging, and wide-ranging in nature, and so is our client base.Job Expectations:In this technical role, you will be preparing engineering drawings,calculations, process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs),specifications, and technical reports for a variety of municipal water andwastewater projects as part of the Brown and Caldwell Design Services group.You will be expected to manage design tasks as a process mechanical task leadon small to midsize projects with support from Brown and Caldwell's subjectmatter experts. You will also be given the chance to mentor less experiencedjunior and entry level engineers. Other responsibilities for this positioninclude occasional site visits during various project phases that may includetasks such as equipment evaluation, process testing and troubleshooting,construction inspection and observations, and other types of field work. Youwill support projects both locally and nationally, but with a focus on Brownand Caldwell's western business region.Responsibilities:Execute engineering work on water and environmental projects includingwastewater treatment, water treatment, advanced treatment, and pumpingand conveyanceWork on engineering designs preparing drawings, specifications, P&IDs,calculations, technical reports, and equipment selection for a variety ofwater or wastewater projectsLead design tasks with assistance from BC's subject matter expertsPerform process mechanical facility lead role (depending on experience)Work with drafters and designers and coordinate with other disciplines tocomplete construction documentsMentor less experienced junior- and entry-level engineersAssist or lead the preparation and writing of technical memoranda,reports, and electronic deliverablesAssist or lead studies or alternatives analysesPerform office services during construction on projects you designed,including submittal reviews, responses to requests for information, andother construction related office engineering workCheck performance and/or conformity with design drawings and specificationsthrough field inspection and testing during construction of your projectsDuties may also include occasional field activities such as siteinvestigations, data collection, compilation, analysis, anddocumentation; these activities may require occasional travel to projectsites that are not local to your home officeRegularly seek out guidance and implement feedback received from seniorengineering staffRequired Skills and Experience:B.S. degree in Environmental, Mechanical, Civil, or ChemicalEngineering; M.S. degree preferredP.E. certification/registration in Mechanical, Environmental, or Civilin good standing, or ability to obtain in the near future.Experience designing water and wastewater projects and preparing constructiondocuments including drawings, P&IDs, specif cations, controlnarratives, technical memoranda, etc. is requiredMinimum 5 years of similar experience required; 6 to 10 years of increasingresponsibility in related experience preferredStrong aptitude for researching and solving technical problemsStrong written and verbal communication skills essentialTask design lead experience is requiredExperience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, Access,Outlook, etc.) requiredExperience performing engineering calculations using computer software(Excel, Mathcad, etc.) is requiredExperience writing and editing equipment and piping specifications is requiredExperience with AFT Arrow and AFT Fathom is preferredExperience with ProjectWise Explorer is preferredValid driver's license and good driving recordSalary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is basedon the employee's primary work location and may be more or less dependingupon skills, experience, and education.
