About this Role
Parexel is seeking to appoint a credible, forward-thinking, innovative, open-minded, and experienced Operations Executive to lead their Global Data Operations organization which includes 2500+ employees responsible for data management, biostatistics operations, medical writing, biostatistics consulting, process / standards, and innovation for all phases of drug development.
As an active member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Senior Vice President, Global Data Operations (SVP, GDO) will be fully responsible for the global P&L of this group and for the effective and profitable delivery of data services globally. Specifically, this individual will be responsible for providing qualified resources to optimize and ensure timely delivery of high-quality data for Data Management, Biostatistics, Programming (DB and Statistical), Medical Writing, and Domain Strategy whilst continuing to build a high performing and fit-for-purpose data operations function.
This is a business-critical role responsible for harnessing functional and geographic expertise to shape Parexel’s client’s development programs to enable the correct decision at the earliest timepoint in the most efficient manner whilst driving success.
Overall, the goal of this role is the orchestration of people, processes, and technology to deliver trusted, business-ready data to enable efficient and effective drug development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and manage the global data operations, biostatistics, and medical writing functions - drive and reinforce expected behaviors and practices.
Drive global continuous improvement and implement innovation/market leading best practices in data operations.
Set clear, stretching goals and drive results.
Partner with Project Leadership/Clinical Operations/Startup/Launch office to deliver flawless global study execution.
Responsible for all budget and profitability targets.
Manage escalation from Externally and internally (Commercial and Project leadership).
Provide input to select bid defense meetings.
Attend Client meetings as required (support NBA and strategic partnership pursuits)
Ensure effective cost management and quality of delivery.
Development and utilization of strong process and project execution practices across clients and geographies.
Development of world-class standards, processes and oversight across Clients and Geographies.
Knowledge and compliance with country/local regulatory, legal requirements.
Development of best practices, capability growth and process improvement and administration.

Operational – Successful delivery of customer projects; ensure proper resource planning and management.
Strategic – guide the team on a path to differentiate Parexel as a leader in this space.
Financial – manage to cost budget and improve margins.
Sales – customer-facing role, sales, and issue resolution.
Staff – motivate and lead the global team.
CRITICAL CRITERIA FOR SUCCESS
A credible and experienced Operations leader with in-depth knowledge of the Pharma/CRO and/or healthcare services industry
Proven track record of success in senior leadership roles – evidenced by a successful track record of business results and strong execution.
Strong ability to drive transformational change and efficiencies to achieve flawless study execution.
A strong people leader with a proven track record in effectively managing and leading sizeable, matrixed teams across multiple countries.
Embraces innovation, new technologies and data to accelerate decision making.
A natural relationship builder who is customer-centric, transparent, agile, creative, brave, and open-minded coupled with the ability to connect with clients – sales and issue resolution.
Strong innovation focus and ability to solve problems creatively coupled with strong financial acumen – ability to manage a large, global P&L in a complex and fast-moving environment.
A strong influencer with outstanding judgment.
An undergraduate degree in a relevant field is required. An advanced scientific/higher degree or MBA is preferred.
Demonstrated expertise in leading, and experience with advanced approaches and techniques for data capture/optimization, novel study design and analysis, visualization, interpretation, and predictive modeling.
Strategic foresight and financial acumen and understanding and applying key profitability levers in a high growth environment (e.g., cost drivers, locations, etc.).
Collaboration and partnership – with key stakeholders across the Core Clinical Development, and the FSP units.
