Description
We are seeking a Sr Systems Engineer to join our team in the insurance industry based in Fairfield, California. This role is pivotal in ensuring the effective provisioning, operation, and maintenance of system hardware and software, as well as related infrastructure. Key responsibilities include technical research, server performance monitoring, and assisting project teams with technical issues.
Responsibilities:
• Provide server and application system administration including LAN support, virtualization, network monitoring, and employee access.
• Perform capacity planning and performance monitoring on the systems and work with management to ensure high-performance standards and availability.
• Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve network, hardware, and software problems on systems, input/output devices, and workstations.
• Provide services to software development to analyze, recommend, and develop innovative and cost-effective solutions for the use of software.
• Provide maintenance of newly developed applications.
• Be responsible for the successful deployment, effective usage, and efficient operation of information systems and technology.
• Ensure the integrity and security of enterprise data on host computers, multiple databases, and during data transfer in accordance with business needs and industry best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Perform security implementation and audits.
• Perform and test system backups and restores.
• Manage input/output devices, including printers and tape libraries.
• Conduct research on emerging products, services, and technology standards.
• Participate in the weekly 24/7 helpdesk support on-call rotation.S
Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Systems Administrator in the insurance industry
• Profound knowledge and experience with Cisco Technologies and Cisco Products
• Demonstrable expertise in managing and maintaining Active Directory
• Proven experience with Deployments and VMware
• Proficiency in MS Office 365 is required
• Experience with migration, implementation and integrations with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Azure is essential
• Knowledge of system security and data backup/recovery is required
