JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Senior Software Engineer at Northwestern MutualLife Insurance Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin will collaborate withproduct team members, engineers, designers, and testing teams in orderto enhance and modernize technical applications. Apply understanding ofsoftware life cycle and design patterns to understand technical featuresbeing built. Utilize mainframe development skills including PL/I andJCL. Practice Agile methodologies to implement these technicalapplication requirements. Understand business requirements for specifictechnical project. Focus on technologies to provide efficient solutions.Analyze, design, develop, deploy, and support software solutions andinfrastructure implementations/upgrades. Follow Agile scrum softwaredevelopment lifecycle. Collaborate with an engineering team and shareresponsibility for monitoring live systems, fixing bugs, writing newfeatures, maintaining documentation, participating in planning sessionsand mentoring junior engineers. Analyze technical solutions and provideestimates for feature implementation. Develop code for new features.Utilize PL/I, JCL, JSON, and Java in order to fix bugs, implement newfeatures, and make service calls to interact with the database. Workwith relational databases (DB2) and with microservices architecture.Utilize database management skills to create schema design and optimizedata query results. Utilize educational foundation in SoftwareEngineering, Database Management System, OOPs, and Principles ofProgramming Languages. Design integration test for application andverify performance tests. Apply background with Git Source Control andCI/CD practices in order to create new branches in GitLab.
