Universal Cells (UCI) is announcing an Senior Scientist T cell differentiation opportunity at our facility in Seattle, WA.
Purpose and Scope:
The Senior Scientist, T cell differentiation position is a scientific role responsible for planning and execution of research utilizing pluripotent stem cell (PSC) and differentiation to T cell lineages.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for the design and execution of studies related to the differentiation and characterization of pluripotent stem cells (PSCs) to T cell lineages.
Leadership from the bench. This position is expected to demonstrate leadership through not only planning, and communication, but through hands-on execution of experiments.
Applies a high degree of scientific rigor to all aspects of the job, including experimental design, analysis, execution, and interpretation.
Remain at the forefront of scientific literature of PSCs, PSC differentiation, and T cell therapeutics. Ability to translate understandings to innovation in scientific approaches.
Development of robust and well controlled differentiation processes, utilizing inherently scalable methods, which lead into product development.
Prepares technical reports, summaries, protocols/SOPs, and presentations. Regularly presents findings at group meetings and to upper management to support program-level, data-driven decisions.
Understand and participate in development of project timelines, deliverables, and priorities.
Supporting cross-functional knowledge sharing and collaborate on research projects.
Collaborates with colleagues across Universal Cells and other Astellas sites, including support of process and method transfer related to manufacture of Universal Donor Cell therapies.
Performs other duties as assigned or special projects as needed.
Quantitative Dimensions:
This Sr. Scientist role is directly responsible for developing PSC-differentiation methodologies to T cell lineages which are robust, well controlled, and scalable. These activities will ultimately lead to new product candidates to treat diverse indications.
Organizational Context:
Reports to Senior Director, Immunology at Universal Cells.
Closely collaborates with colleagues within Research & Development and other departments at Universal Cells and other Astellas sites.
Contributes to organizational health of the research division through creating a psychologically safe, learning, and high-performance culture
Qualifications:
Required
PhD. in cell biology, immunology, or a related field, with an additional 5+ years of relevant post-graduate experience.
MS with 8+ years or BS with 12+ years of highly relevant experience
Deep expertise in pluripotent stem cell culture and differentiation to T cells.
Expertise in T cell development and biology.
Demonstrated success in leading projects and teams.
Prioritization of scientific rigor in planning and execution of experiments.
Ability to distill project timelines and deliverables to specific objectives.
Strong organizational, time management, and problem solving skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and on teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong work ethic with a passion for working in a fast-paced, dynamic and diverse work environment.

Salary Range :
$108,000 - $144,000 (NOTE: Final salary could be more or less, based on experience)Benefits:
