Siemens Financial Services (SFS) is part of Siemens AG and is a leading provider of project-based financing around the world. The Risk Controlling Group within SFS Inc. is looking for an energetic and self-motivated Senior Rating Analyst in the field of Project and Infrastructure Finance (Power, Renewable Energy, Energy, and Infrastructure) for its Ratings team.
You will be responsible to evaluate and assess credit risks associated with a project or an individual obligor. You must have strong credit and quantitative skills to analyze the credit risk and various elements of project finance transactions in the Americas. The risk assessment needs to be independent, coherent, and high quality while following the internal risk rating methodology. Knowledge about the merchant energy markets, renewable energy, financial forecasting, and credit agreement covenants is highly desired.
As a Senior Rating Analyst, you must have extensive knowledge and understanding of the energy sector, conventional and renewable power, project financings, energy and infrastructure sector risk drivers and issues. You must be able to quickly comprehend and explain all aspects of energy financings in a clear, concise manner.
We are looking for a Senior Rating Analyst with the position located in Iselin, NJ. Note that Siemens employs a hybrid working environment model.
Responsibilities:
Perform credit risk analysis and prepare a rating report based on the analysis to be included in the credit report for the investment committee/credit committee presentation.
Periodic review of the project ratings based on the borrowers’ historical performance against the original projections.
Develop a strong working relationship with other internal departments.
Ensure that all risk rating guidelines are adhered to and that exceptions are well documented.
Requirements are:
Bachelor’s degree
5 years proven experience in Banking, Finance or Energy
Extensive industry sector expertise with a strong understanding of all key industry risk drivers, including construction, commodity price / volume, technology, operations and maintenance, counterparty, contractual agreements, sponsor/equity, and market risks. Ability to gather and evaluate client information, compare to industry benchmarks, and analyze third-party information.
Excellent ability to understand and interpret highly technical data and information, with the further ability to present the information in a clear, concise, and non-technical manner to allow approval by the rating authority-holder.
Strong ability to analyze and interpret cash flow model data. Appropriately analyze all projection assumptions and justifications. Assess if projections are realistic and whether the borrower is able to attain projected results.
Assist and mentor junior analysts.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with all levels of management.
Ability to meet tight deadlines.
High degree of flexibility, energy, and initiative.
Preferred Requirements:
Rating agency experience
Undergraduate degree, preferably in Business (Accounting or Finance)
Experience working with financial models.

The pay range for this position is $ 116,550 - $199,800 along with an incentive bonus structure. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
