L3Harris in Brighton are part of Release Systems and the Mission Avionics sector operating in the Aerospace domain. We specialise in high performance electro-mechanical systems and pneumatic technology for airborne weapon carriage release.
Joining our Quality team of 7, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing QA for the Product Group for design & manufacture of mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical systems & associated documentation. You will facilitate the implementation of standards, methods, and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision, accuracy and reliability of company products. Lead the preparation and execution of internal audits for the Product Group within established design, manufacturing and production process controls to ensure compliance with internal and external specifications, requirements and standards and liaise with auditing groups and inspectors to develop formal written reports and recommend corrective actions. Identify trends in discrepancies and collaborates with process owners on the refinement and optimization of business processes.

What the role will involve
Identify trends in discrepancies and collaborates with process owners on the refinement and optimisation of business processes.
Participate in identifying root cause for discrepancies and nonconformities to develop disposition and recommend corrective action plans.
Lead material review board and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) activities.
Interfacing with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met and conducting program quality cost account management.
Ensuring internal, customer, regulatory and 3rd party requirements are defined, measured, and continuously improved.
Drive early cross-functional engagement initiatives to ensure quality throughout all phases of the product lifecycle and associated processes, including project execution through review of proposals & completion of gate reviews.
What you’ll bring
The role of Senior Quality Engineer requires the following experience and skills:
Senior professional experience with strong knowledge of quality assurance and broad knowledge of project management.
Experience managing Supplier Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering and Quality Control personnel within a matrix management environment.
Substantial experience in a high complexity design, engineering & manufacturing environment, preferably in the aerospace/defence industry.
Experience working in an ISO9001/AS9100 environment, preferably with previous experience of high standards of accreditation.
