Our Position: We are currently seeking aSenior Program Assistantto assist with the departmental responsibilities, with a primary focus on Family Support Service Programs.
This position also involves:
Develop and implement training objectives for the participants enrolled in each of the groups.

Assures the overall safety of the participants through maintaining safety standards, familiarity with emergency safety procedures and providing training.
Our Rate of Pay: $ 15.20-$19.48 (depending on experience)
Our Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related fieldPLUStwo years paid experience in Human Services. OR
Associate’s Degree in Human Services or related fieldPLUSthree years paid experience in Human Services. OR
High School or equivalent diplomaPLUSfive years paid experience in Human Services. PLUS
A valid NYS driver’s license and approved driving record is required.

Position Summary:
Assist with the departmental responsibilities, with a primary focus on Family Support Service Programs.
Reporting Relationship:
Receives direct supervision from the Coordinator of Community Support Services.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement training objectives for the participants enrolled in each of the groups
Develop lesson plans for parenting and teen groups. Plan and organize programs within the community to participate in.
Assures the overall safety of the participants through maintaining safety standards, familiarity with emergency safety procedures and providing training.
Completes group/individual notes on participants enrolled in the program.
Completes billing and quarterly reports.
Maintains attendance for participants enrolled in the program.
Creates a monthly schedule and calendar with input from participants and other staff members.
Assures confidentiality of information about all individuals and their families.
Interacts with participants, families, and collateral as deemed appropriate.
Completes participant home visits and/or appointments as needed and completes necessary documentation.
Attends Life Plan Meetings as needed.
Assist with transportation of individuals as needed.
Assist with department needs and paperwork as needed.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related fieldPLUStwo years paid experience in Human Services.
OR
Associate’s Degree in Human Services or related fieldPLUSthree years paid experience in Human Services.
OR
High School or equivalent diplomaPLUSfive years paid experience in Human Services.
PLUS

Mental Requirements:
The ability to read, write, analyze, be perceptive/comprehensive, show good judgment, have good math & decision skills, independent action, planning & prioritizing and follow directions. Work independently as well as cooperatively with others. Be approachable, enthusiastic, personable, work under pressure and meet job related deadlines accordingly.
Human Relations Skills:The ability to communicate with individuals in a positive manner, demonstrate the ability to be a leader and serve as an appropriate role model to staff members. Receive supervision instruction in a positive manner. Adhere to the agency’s policies, procedures, rules and regulations. Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
Equipment Operation:The ability to operate computer, copier, fax machine.
