What you will do
The Lead Corporate & Procurement Counsel is responsible for support all aspects of sourcing and contracting activities for services procured by the Kenvue business, on a global basis, working with Deliver and Logistics Procurement to standardize and harmonize the procurement contracting experience and process, including assisting in the creation or implementation of new technologies, processes, and templates, as well as new training and escalation procedures, as needed. This role will lead on the drafting, negotiation and execution of material transactions across Kenvue’s regions, and globally, and will partner with the Deliver and Logistics Procurement functions to ensure that Kenvue policies and processes are applied to protect Kenvue’s business interests.
Key Responsibilities
Partnering closely with Kenvue’s Procurement organization (across Category and Regional teams, as well as with Procurement operations colleagues in Enterprise Business Services) and other relevant stakeholders and business partners, to understand and analyse their business needs, and to drive appropriate sourcing and contracting strategies.
Providing strategic counsel, legal advice and support to business, Procurement (and, where necessary to support Logistics Procurement, Deliver) partners, and collaborating with other attorneys and subject matter experts, as appropriate, to ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures, and to deliver risk assessments, and mitigations, as needed.
Leading complex and material supplier negotiations by partnering with, and providing legal counsel to, Kenvue Procurement regional Sourcing / Category and Regional teams, to support high value regional or global transactions (up to and including multi-million dollar agreements, and with a focus on logistics and distribution operations, including warehousing, transportation and customs brokerage).
Advising and supporting Logistics Procurement, and their relevant business stakeholders across the Deliver function, in the assessment and management of potential disputes with suppliers.
Collaborating with Kenvue’s Procurement organization, and other members of the Kenvue Legal & Compliance function, to improve the end-to-end contracting process, deliver legal and contracting training and playbooks, create, harmonize and rationalize contract templates, identify and adopt best practices, and support process, systems and governance improvements.
Working closely with colleagues in the Corporate & Procurement Legal team to support additional indirect procurement Categories, such as Marketing (media, agencies and customer business insights) and Corporate Services (financial, professional and HR services).
Leading, and providing project management support on, strategic Kenvue Legal & Compliance and Procurement functional initiatives, including adoption of new technologies and process in support of sourcing and contracting activities, and associated change management activities.
Qualifications
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
A law degree from an accredited law school is required, as is current authorization / license to practice law (in good standing) in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
Minimum of 5 years of corporate experience, either in-house, or at a major market law firm.
Good understanding of the legal ramifications and needs of the business environment across multiple indirect Procurement Categories.
Strong transactional skills, including experience in drafting and negotiating complex agreements, across areas such as supply, logistics and distribution and marketing, media, and other services agreements (including consulting and professional services contracts).
Strong virtual team working skills, including strong communication (with the ability to make the complex simple), collaboration, stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, including experience working in a fast-paced matrix and international environment.
Attention to detail and the ability to effectively identify, assess and mitigate risk.
Desired Qualifications
Healthcare and/or Consumer products work experience, preferably with experience dealing with logistics and distribution operations, and related multi-country agreements.
Strong procurement experience across multiple Categories, dealing with high value agreements, with good understanding of Procurement processes.
Experience providing direct legal support to procurement and/or logistics functions.
A positive attitude and the skills to work across business functions and cultures with teams located in multiple time zones, taking a global view and bringing external perspective, as well as the ability to act independently, in a fast-paced and highly rewarding environment.
What’s in it for you
Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from $144,000 - $195,000 This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate’s skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.
