ABOUT THE ROLE
Holcim (US) Inc. seeks a Senior Process Engineer in Midlothian, Texas to lead plant discussions and investigations to improve throughput, efficiency, quality, and environmental performance. Through data analysis, field measurements, and conversations with employees, the individual diagnoses issues and develops solutions, facilitating greater performance.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Provide technical support to the plant’s production, quality, and environmental functions. Advance strategies, priorities, and optimization techniques that assist the plant in attainment of plant and company objectives. Evaluate operations, processes, and trends through audits and systematic approaches (Six Sigma, RCFA, SPC, etc).
Contribute to plant safety activities and initiatives. Support environmental activities.
Provide technical support on implementation of new equipment and/or new procedures including training of plant personnel as required. Serves as coach/mentor
Coordinate and participate in the improvement of the Plant’s technical capabilities.
Initiate process optimization in collaboration with Quality, Production and Maintenance to ensure maximum and efficient utilization of the plant’s equipment.
Elevate the technical knowledge and practices of all facets of the operation.
Ensure compliance with internal control procedures - communicating problems in operations, unwarranted deviations from established standards, and violations of policy or law.
Collaborate with kiln coach, control room supervisors, production supervisor, coordinators, and managers, corporate engineers to analyze problems and improve operations.
Work in conjunction with quality and production departments to improve throughput and quality.
This position involves domestic/national travel up to 5% of the time.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor’s degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field, plus 5 years of progressively responsible, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered.
Required Work Experience: The position also requires the following number of years of professional experience with each of the following;
5 years: With industrial cement operations, including cement process optimization
5 years: Mills and Kilns Process, Operation and Optimization
5 years: Control loops and interlocks 4) 5 years: Conducting project management within an industrial cement plant
5 years: With High-Level Control (HLC) for the cement process
