BAE Systems is looking for an experienced, Senior Principal Software Engineer to work on a cross-functional team and participate in the complete software development lifecycle including designing, developing, debugging, testing, configuring, and deploying our complex, real-time software solutions into simulation and live flight exercises. The qualified candidate will interact directly with current and potential customers to understand their requirements and guide development efforts to meet their needs
The qualified candidate will have the opportunity to work with platforms and mission applications for intelligence and defense customers with domain emphasis on Geospatial Intelligence, Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR), and Mission Management.
Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor s degree in engineering/technical discipline and 8 year(s) related experience
US Citizenship with an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance
Strong software architecture, design, and development experience using C#.
Software development, coding, and debugging experience across the entire development lifecycle
Experience with version control systems, such as Git
Experience with Agile development and issue tracking systems, such as Azure DevOps or Jira
Experience with software build tools, such as Visual Studio and Eclipse
Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders
Experience with team leadership and mentoring roles
Experience in Java, C#, C , SQL
Experience with Web Services, XML, WSDL
Understanding and skills in software design and code, including Object Oriented Analysis & Design (OOAD) and SOA
Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic/collaborative environment
Strong oral and written communications skill
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Knowledge of Photogrammetry and/or GXP ecosystem
Experience with Software Architectures (e.g., Web Services)
Software Installation Development (InstallShield, InstallAnywhere)
Experience with Software Systems Performance Analysis
Experience with scripting and other languages (e.g., JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, XML, HTML, CSS, JQuery, and/or PERL)
Experience with database development tools and design (e.g., SQL Server)
Experience with automated test tools
Development tools and services (e.g., MS Visual Studio, Eclipse)
User Interface development tools
Configuration Management tools (e.g., Jira, Git, and/or Subversion)
Familiarity with current Web UI frameworks such as Bootstrap
Security Certification
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $115100 - $195700
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
