Job Description
This DBA position is part of our 24x7 Shared Services DBA team where we provide high end DB management and lifecycle support for all OMCS Application teams. We drive DB Migration strategy to Oracle Cloud, DB patching, backup, 19c/21c upgrade, automation, and operational compliance.
Responsibilities
DBA lifecyle Support (Patching, Backup, DR configs, Upgrades, migrations) and Infra DomU patching during off hours
Monitoring and Queue management (SRs, RFCs,JIRAs)
Critical escalation support for US hours 2:00 pm - 6:00 PST where skilled DBA resources are needed
Work with OCI Development and Product Management for adoption of new OCI features and services
Preferred Qualifications
7+ years PRODUCTION experience working as an Oracle DBA, in an enterprise environment
Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
Great communication skills
Fluent in written and spoken English
Strong knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL
Knowledge of Automation lifecycle and tools (Ansible, etc) is a plus
Ability to develop and troubleshoot shell scripts as needed.
Thorough Knowledge in RMAN backup and recovery processes and operation
Excellent working knowledge in DB patching
Thorough knowledge of DB Performance, SQL Tuning
Thorough knowledge of Clusterware - RAC/GRID configurations (configuration, upgrade)
Thorough Knowledge in Oracle Database RAC, ASM, Data Guard
Knowledge of migration using RMAN, datapump and export/import
Knowledge of Exadata operations (patching, upgrades, node addition, storage cell addition and storage configuration)
Experience with Enterprise Manager for monitoring and administering mission critical databases
Experience with e-Business & Technology patching and upgrades is a plus
Knowledge of Golden Gate and Oracle Gateway is a plus
Overall knowledge of Cloud Computing
Experience in any Unix shell scripting
Knowledge of Perl script and Python is a plus
