If so, we are looking for a Senior Transport Operations Manager to join us, on a full time, permanent basis, to be based In the Midlands.

The salary on offer will be up to £55,000, plus car allowance. We also offer 25 days’ holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. You’ll have access to a variety of high street discounts, as well as a cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension and many other benefits.
What you’ll do on a typical day:
Reporting to the Contract General Manager you will take full operational accountability and responsibility for the transport operation, effectively managing your time to ensure a safe and efficient service
As a true people manager, you will focus on ensuring that your colleagues receive the right level of support, coaching and development
Manage the relationship between XPO and our customers, constantly communicating across various stakeholders
Ensure that all teams are aligned, operating to XPO standard policies and procedures
Support the Contract General Manager with adherence to all compliance and legal obligations with a huge emphasis on safety, deputising in their absence
Assist with executing the daily plan for all deliveries and collections, with a laser focus on cost management and customer service levels
Working closely with the onsite customer on a day-to-day basis, you’ll support with period reviews and customer presentations in the contract managers absence.
Provide leadership and guidance for your team to enable them to meet objectives, encouraging open communication
What you need to succeed at XPO:
Ideally, you’ll already be a Transport Manager or have Transport Management experience in a 3PL environment, looking for the next step
Great People Management and Leadership skills
International CPC holder – essential
A track record of resolving complex issues and delivering results in a fast paced environment
An analytical mind that can absorb data and information, as well as the ability to track performance and cost across your operation
