Project OverviewBechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility.

Position OverviewAs a Senior Mechanical Designer, you will support design development of Mechanical Systems and equipment for the Poland AP1000 project.
This role will be based in Knoxville, TN.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare 2-D CAD Intelligent Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) based on sketches and marked up prints.
Provide assistance and/or training to other designers, if necessary.
Review/check models, drawings, and documents prepared by others to ensure incorporation of drafting standards, procedures, discipline standards, and other national standards, as required.
Responsible for data integrity of components list.
Point of contact for support and troubleshooting P&ID and associated lists and intelligent information.
Design Building Information Modeling (BIM) and coordination with other disciplines.
Execute schedule requirements while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product.
Qualifications and SkillsBasic Qualifications:
AA/AS degree with 11 years of related design experience, or 15 years of related design experience in lieu of degree.
Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Minimum Qualifications:Experience in reading/interpreting/drafting P&IDs and incorporating complex redline changes into the drawings.
Experience in working with equipment, line, valve, and in-line component lists and associated data.
Proficient in using Microsoft Office software.
Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards.
Prior experience with industry-wide design/drafting tools such as AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation, PDS2D, PDS3D, Smartplant P&ID Component Databases.
Experience working in a project team environment to resolve issues and improve processes.
Excellent oral and written communication, planning, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Extensive experience using SmartPlant P&ID.
Knowledge of Bechtel Corporate guides and standards.
