Johnson & Johnson MedTech is recruiting for a Senior Marketing Manager, Global Strategic Marketing, OTTAVA Robotic System, within our MedTech Surgery organization. The location for this position is Santa Clara, CA.

The MedTech Surgical organization is comprised of: Wound Closure & Healing and Biosurgery, Endo Mechanical and Energy, OTTAVA (Surgical Robotics), MONARCH (Flexible Robotics), and MedTech Digital.
The Senior Marketing Manager will report to the Marketing Director, OTTAVA Robotic System. The person in this role will lead the definition and prioritization of OTTAVA’s surgical specialty portfolio strategy and product roadmap, including building business cases and value proposition, representing the voice of customer, managing regional and external relationships, working with R&D and cross-functional partners to achieve critical objectives, and recommending critical go / no-go decisions. This is an exciting time to join our rapidly growing team and partner across the OTTAVA marketing team to help build and deliver J&J MedTech’s multi-quadrant surgical robotics system to markets, globally.
Key Responsibilities:
Define and prioritize product roadmap to deliver competitive and comprehensive portfolio across targeted clinical specialties and procedures.
Conduct market research and customer engagements to inform target product profile, procedure-level value proposition, and procedure-focused portfolio prioritization.
Develop a deep understanding of OTTAVA’s clinical specialties, including attending medical society meetings, observing surgical procedures, and engaging with clinician key opinion leaders (KOLs).
Partner across OTTAVA and J&J MedTech global strategic marketing (GSM) teams on projects with connections across subsystems and product portfolios.
Ensure thorough understanding of the surgical robotics market, including competitive portfolio offerings and features/capabilities needed to succeed in our target market, working closely with the global strategic insights team.
Drive strong collaboration with cross functional partners (including R&D, Pre-clinical, Clinical, and Medical (PCM), Regulatory, Human Factors, Business Development, Supply Chain, and Regional Marketing Leads) to support continued innovation cadence.
Serve as marketing lead for OTTAVA new product development teams to progress projects through the pipeline and development stage-gates.
Ensure features and functionality exceed customer expectations and support the value proposition, further refining segmentation, targeting and positioning.
Support execution of marketing and commercial launch related activities for the OTTAVA Robotic System as needed.
Qualifications
Education:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.Required Skills and Experience:
Minimum of 8 years of progressive business experience.
Proven ability to effectively navigate ambiguous and open-ended problems
Strong ability to collaborate and work across organizational boundaries (e.g., across functions, with other business units)
Experience capturing customer feedback and defining customer needs, with ability to articulate to team members, including engineering and marketing partners.
Critical thinking with ability to drive business results and influence without direct authority.
Ability to develop, manage and nurture customer relationships.
Strong communications skills, verbal and written.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Marketing and / or sales experience in medical devices or surgical robotics.
Demonstrated ability to learn sophisticated technology, especially in clinical applications
Other:
This position will be based out of Santa Clara, CA. and may require up to 30% travel (international and domestic)
The anticipated base pay for this role is $136,000 to $234,140
