  Manufacturing Engineers develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying products and manufacturing methods. They provide premier engineering and manufacturing support expertise to enable on-time delivery with performance and reliability that exceed customer expectations. They execute across all phases of a program including proposal capture, process development, transition to production, and production support.

  This is an onsite role that sits at our Medley, Florida site.

  May be eligible for relocation.

  Primary Responsibilities:

  Develop plans layout for assembly and materials handling for the Business Jet production lines and optimize Production by determine technical requirements necessary to meet production goals in terms of volume, cost, quality, and timeline.

  Monitor processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

  Review and set up optimized product flow through standard work.

  Provides guidance for engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize assembly manufacturing techniques and collaborate with design engineering to ensure products are manufacturable. This includes selecting, specifying, and optimizing equipment, fixtures, tooling, gaging, processes, and operations.

  Act as liaison with engineering in releasing new products.

  Create and refine manufacturing processes for new products, addressing challenges associated with technology transfer from prototype to production by performing PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) studies.

  Create work instructions for new processes including definition of tooling and process parameters.

  Generate fixture and tooling designs required.

  Develop, revise, and support the implantation of new processes to the manufacturing floor.

  Continuously monitor manufacturing processes to ensure adherence to product specifications/requirements and lead advanced manufacturing engineering activities in support of NPI and CORE.

  Identify and lead cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives and develop work plans for continuous improvement and report out to the manger each week.

  Operate independently with minimal oversight from management.

  Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.

  Experience working in a manufacturing environment (can be through internships, coop work).

  Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Prior engineering experience working within a manufacturing or assembly environment is preferred.

  PFMEA experience preferred.

  Continuous Improvement/Lean Manufacturing experience is preferred.

  The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
