Why this job matters
The role is responsible for leading the transformation and innovation programme across BT’s Supply Chain, to transform the function into an industry leader and provider of choice. The transformation covers all areas of the function including warehousing, distribution, technical services, final mile and digital architecture. The role has a small team but a large scope requiring the individual to influence a broad range of stakeholders within the Supply Chain team and across the CFU and 3rd party service providers.
What you’ll be doing
Provide leadership to enable effective planning and delivery of Supply Chain’s multiple transformational and innovation programmes to ensure SC competitiveness and value delivery
Sets direction for innovative improvements across Supply Chain
Sits on the SC leadership team / SMT. Recognised as a leader in BT and by our external stakeholders and industry peers, who can influence BT Group’s transformation and innovation agenda and strategy
Own the delivery and performance of SC’s transformation and change programmes, including process, technology, tools, and organisations that is critical to the delivery of BT SC value & competitiveness across Warehousing, Distribution, Technical Services, Final Mile and Digital Architecture.
Design, plan & execute of all SC transformation programmes and activities to create BT a world-class fit-for-purpose SC organisation
Maintain partnership with internal and external stakeholders,
Guide and assign transformation and innovation programmes and activities to teams to ensure focus and quality delivery
Provide leadership across all process, technology, tools, and organisations transformation and change programmes such as insourcing, outsourcing and automation
Work with team to determine training needs around transformation and change programmes, develop and execute sufficient training and education to ensure adoption and realisation of transformations and change programmes
Maintain expertise around industry leading edge SC transformations
Manage senior relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, ensure continuous alignment to ensure continuous alignment and buy in and to drive adoption of governance and enablement programmes
Lead, develop and coach a small team of professionals with no more than 2-3 direct reports but with a large scope to deliver brilliant outcomes for BT and customers
Skills you'll have
Extensive experience as an established leader, with strong leadership skills and the ability to lead, and deliver through high performance teams
Excellent in providing guidance and decisions to the team in order to achieve optimal solution and outcome
Extensive experiences in leading transformations, able to guide strategy and initiatives from design to implementation, and excellent in leveraging change management and communication methodologies and approaches. Track record of delivery of tangible results under time pressure ideally in a Supply Chain / logistics manufacturing / engineering environment
Demonstrates a track record of decision making and conflict management capability and deliver against key metrics
Strong relationship management skills & ability to influence decision making with senior stakeholders within a matrixed environment covering internal CFUs and our 3rd party logistics provider
Ability to manage BT’s complex, strategic and commercial characteristics in line with external and internal requirements
Demonstrates strong continuous improvement skills
Strong commercial and business mindset with high degree of financial acumen / financial literacy
Data-driven analytical mindset. Curious and comfortable challenging established thinking and process solutions. You are comfortable rolling up your sleeves and being actively involved at a working level
You are a true commercial thinker, you understand the market and associated products and services, and innovatively use this information to create new business approaches, adding value to BT.
You have substantial experience and ability to coach your team for success with the highest professional standards. You invest time.
You’ll be capable of influencing & managing stakeholder relationships at CFU MD / CFO level, influencing on strategy, commercials and sourcing approach for the function.
