Sr. Manager, Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting
The Sr. Manager of Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting performs a broad range of corporate accounting functions. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting, this role will be primarily responsible for assessment of new or complex accounting issues arising from both business transactions and the implementation of new accounting pronouncements, as well as ad hoc technical accounting research. This role will also be leading the preparation of the company’s SEC filings, and the position will play an essential part in ensuring the accuracy of the company's external financial reporting. The individual selected for this position will interact with all levels of management, ensure timely and accurate reporting and assist with multiple financial projects and initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Lead the SEC reporting process including preparation and review of the Form 10-K, Form 10-Q and other SEC filings, as well as related XBRL requirements with a focus on accuracy and continuous improvement
Manage the preparation and review of the earnings release, financial tables, external presentations, statement of cash flows, and other quarterly reporting requirements
Maintain awareness of accounting and financial reporting rules as well as a working knowledge of SEC disclosure and reporting requirements
Stay up to date on changes to accounting standards and proactively identify potential impacts to the company’s financial statements and financial reporting processes
Lead the implementation and documentation of new accounting technical standards and SEC regulations
Prepare documentation of significant accounting matters and/or accounting positions that will be communicated with external auditors
Provide accounting guidance and/or respond to inquiries for all corporate transactions and initiatives, which will include collaboration with Treasury, Investor Relations, Tax, Legal and other departments
Lead annual segments reporting analysis, goodwill and intangible assets impairment testing, and M&A accounting on as needed basis, including documenting the process and conclusions reached
Assist with accounting and reporting for equity transactions
Support the annual audit and quarterly review activities with external auditors
Ensure SOX compliance for assigned areas
Maintain global accounting policies
Perform ad hoc projects as needed
Required Knowledge and Skills:
In-depth technical knowledge of GAAP and SEC regulations
Demonstrated analytical and research skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to interact effectively with senior management
Ability to manage multiple projects with strongly demonstrated organizational skills and superior attention to detail
Experience with Workiva strongly preferred
Experience with SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, XBRL tagging, etc.) strongly preferred
Basic Qualifications:
CPA (active)
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in SEC reporting and technical accounting function, including a minimum of three (3) years in Big 4 public accounting (or large national accounting firm).
Preferred Qualifications:
Public accounting experience within the last 5 years
Master's degree in Accounting or related discipline
Work Conditions:
Office Environment - Remote. Candidates in PDT, MDT or CDT preferred.
Flexibility to devote additional effort during peak periods. Ex. Quarter End
Base compensation: Salary range is $158,363 - 242,823
