About the Department
The Chicago Center for HIV Elimination (CCHE), is situated within theBiological Sciences Division at the University of Chicago Medicine. CCHEaims to eliminate all new HIV transmission events by 2041.
The University of Chicago's position on the South Side makes ituniquely situated to test, treat, and prevent new HIV infections in ahighly affected population. The South Side communities and majorityBlack suburbs connected to them to the South represents the largestcontiguous Black population in the United States. By using ourintegrated HIV transmission elimination approaches, we are beginning tomake new infections in these communities less frequent.
Job Summary
The candidate will oversee HIV testing, outreach, linkage to care, andcare engagement projects at the Chicago Center for HIV Elimination atthe University of Chicago. This candidate will provide directsupervision to the managers of the outreach and testing teams and willsupport efforts to grow the teams. The candidate will contribute toprogram planning and service implementation. The candidate will helpdevelop new Center initiatives around care engagement and transgenderhealth. Additional projects and programming will be added as funding isawarded.
Responsibilities
Management and supervision of client facing staff.Maintain and supervise all documentation relevant to HIV and STItesting, service protocols, and quality assurance.Assist in the development and implementation of Center policies andprotocol to support HIV testing, HIV prevention, linkage to care,outreach to community and patient retention in care services.Work with data team to submit monthly and quarterly program reportsto funders and tracks scopes of service.Oversee and develop community partnerships.Collaborate with other HIV providers and the department of publichealth to identify and prevent barriers to care for clients.Oversees the linkage and retention in care program; integratingprevention into testing into research protocols; tracking retentionand care outcomes across a number of HIV care projects.Provision of services may also include linkage to primary care;referrals to other community-based organizations (CBOs) and socialservice agencies (e.g. housing, food, and primary careorganizations).May supervise two staff.Performs various professional, organizational, and operational tasksunder limited supervision. Acts as a resource on clinical researchand related aspects of clinical study for other clinical researchstaff. Accountable for complex problem solving on assigned clinicalresearch studies and professional tasks.Performs other related work as needed.Minimum Qualifications
