Background & Purpose of the Job

　　​ ​ The N orth America Senior Data Engineer ing Manager – will lead the team of data engineers /managers to develop data solutions to support product analytics managers and data scientists. This role will be partnering with internal data scientists , product managers and external stakeholders across the business to deliver advanced analytics. The ideal candidate is an experienced data engineer with vast hands-on experience and leadership experience in leading projects and teams f rom the ground up. ​

　　Who You Are & What You’ll Do

　　​ ​ Facilitate team’s delivery of scalable, maintainable, performant data engineering solutions. Work through your teams to define/design solution options, evaluate technical feasibility, and provide estimates on effort and risk. Drive the design and implementation of new data projects and the optimization of existing solutions. Collaborate across teams - business partners, product, engineering, architecture, platforms - to facilitate solution delivery. Work with architecture and engineers to ensure quality solutions are implemented, and engineering best practices are defined and followed. Drive collaborative reviews of designs, code, and test plans. Define the team’s technical roadmap and influence its adoption. Anticipate, identify and solve issues concerning data management to improve data quality. Work across teams to resolve operational & performance issues. Identify and remove technical bottlenecks for your engineering teams. Manage, mentor, and inspire the team; manage performance, goals and development potential . Provide guidance to team members on work items or technical scenarios ​

　　In this role you’ll be working closely with passionate and driven Product Management team, Architects, Engineers, Data Analysts, Internal partners and other departments. They will span various functional groups across the enterprise. You will be in contact with a wide range of great people. 　　What You Will Bring

　　Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science , Information Systems, Business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

　　7+ years proven experience in large-scale software development

　　4+ years of people management or team lead experience with ex perience identifying , hiring, and nurturing/mentoring engineering talent

　　5+ years CPG/Retail Experience with understanding of associated KPIs and general metrics of customer success criteria.

　　Experience working with data sources such as Retailer POS systems, IRI, Nielsen, Panel data such as Numerator and Nielsen/IRI Panel . Proven ability to recognize value in incremental data sets for the business and can lead the acquisition of this data

　　Retail data experience – working with Walmart, Target, Amazon, Dollar General, Kroger , etc .

　　Understand the concepts of ML/ AI , LLMs

　　Ability to define/design solution options, evaluate technical feasibility, and provide estimates on effort and risk

　　Experience building positive relationships across teams and roles: business partners, product, engineering, architecture, and platforms , and driving adoption and change-management of new tools or capabilities

　　Ability to lead, influence and communicate effectiv ely, both verbally and written, across teams and roles

　　Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and architecture patterns

　　Ability to analyze large and complex data sets with proven experience in delivering recommendations to senior stakeholders

　　Experience participating in key business, architectural and technical decisions

　　Ability to identify and resolve both people and process related issues

　　Experience in Agile/Scrum application development

　　Familiarity with the principles of Domain Driven Design

　　The following skills and experience are also relevant to our overall environment, and nice to have:

　　Experience programming in Python , SQL , and similar languages to produce data and analytical models

　　Experience working in a public cloud environment, particularly Microsoft Azure

　　Experience building RESTful API’s to enable data consumption

　　Experience in developing Power BI dashboards using DAX , Power Automate flows, Web Applications

　　Experience with practices like Continuous Development, Continuous Integration and Automated Testing

　　​ Pay: The pay range for this position is $135,600 to $203,300. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.

　　Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.

　　Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
