The Outlook Data and AI Platform Team is seeking a highly experienced engineer who is deeply passionate about crafting a data-driven evaluation framework. This framework will empower hyper agility in developing Generative AI scenarios throughout the Outlook ecosystem. This role represents a greenfield opportunity, where we collaborate with other Microsoft teams to explore and develop tools and techniques for the evaluation and analysis of Copilot features in Outlook. Many of these features yield probabilistic outcomes, necessitating a sophisticated approach to evaluation and analysis. This role is for someone who enjoys creating solutions that are not just new for the team, the company but for the entire industry. In this pivotal position, you will work closely with feature developers, product managers, data scientists, as well as Microsoft's Office of Applied Research and Substrate AI.

Responsibilities
A minimum of 5 years of software development experience in building services and tools.
At least 1 year of experience working with data, including defining and analyzing metrics and creating optimized data pipelines capable of handling substantial data volumes.
Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language, such as C# or Python
Exceptional problem-solving abilities, critical thinking skills, and communication prowess.
Proficiency in both spoken and written English.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in Machine Learning, Data Science, and statistical modeling.
Familiarity with Substrate.
Proficiency in A/B testing methodologies.
Expertise in building data models and conducting intricate queries using SQL.
Experience with Azure Databricks, Spark, and big data technologies, which will be highly advantageous.
