Summary
CHS Inc. is looking for a Logistics Coordinator to join our team in Fargo! This role will be focused on scheduling and dispatch for our local driver team.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain positive working relationships with carriers and customers.
Collaborate with sales and logistics staff, CHS Transportation, and outside vendors to ensure service to our customers meets expectation and quickly resolve issues.
Communicate with team and provide real-time updates on shipping schedules, production needs, scheduling conflicts, customer requests, and assist with invoice questions.
Monitor freight rates; maintain accurate records of freight rates, fuel surcharge and insurance for each carrier. Assign carriers based on best rates.
Take orders/changes from customers and assign carrier, schedule with plant for production.
Assist merchants and sales staff directly and indirectly with accounting, contract applications and pricing.
Compile and distribute quarterly shipment volumes and trends report as well as relevant accessorial charges for various partnes.
Confirm, enter and file shipment documents for plant partners and merchandising origins which are not automated.
Coordinate empty and loaded logistics at both loading origins and receiving destinations.
Create final shipment documentation (bill of lading) by compiling, filing, sorting and establishing data priorities to meet deadlines.
File and negotiate loss and damage claims.
Maintain and create daily reports and loading schedules.
Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
2+ years of experience in Supply Chain and Procurement and/or Transportation and Logistics
High School diploma or GED
