  Summary:Understands and has an interest in Healthcare specific design, visioning, and design execution. Utilizing creativity, foresight, and judgment this candidate will work closely with the design team to develop design concepts, renderings and presentations as well as involvement in the technical coordination at each project phase to ensure project requirements and objectives are met.RESPONSIBILITIES:Has 5-8 years' experience as an interior designer within Healthcare projects with exposure to a variety of Healthcare project types. For example: Emergency Departments, In-Patient bed floors, Pediatrics, Cancer TreatmentUnderstanding of FGI and ADA guidelines and has participated in code compliance oversight.Oversee coordination and quality assurance of documents required to complete a project or phase of a project; ensures documents are in concert with design intent.Familiar with programming efforts such as space and medical planning, layout and utilization of furnishings and equipment, lighting and color coordination.Participates in the selection and specification of all interior architectural materials and finishes, furniture, lighting and artwork.Develops innovative design concepts which are practical, aesthetic, safe and conducive to intended purposes and function which is reflective of client goals and within project budget.Participates in programming efforts such as space planning, layout and utilization of furnishings and equipment, lighting and color coordination.Assists with the coordination of color and material palettes.Incorporates Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.Renders conceptual design ideas and prepares 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings.Assists with the preparation of client presentations. Will attend and participate in presentations when required.Prepares and updates documents during schematic design and design development phases.Responsible for communication with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements and provides support as necessary.Implements and utilizes HOK Standards for all projects and processes.May provide support to all team members for specific field, style, or phase of interior design expertise.May mentor and direct the work of less experienced staff and deliver staff performance evaluations.Takes personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices.Fosters a commitment to external and internal client service.

  Required Skills

  SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:Possess creative talent in conceptual design and rendering skills of either hand or computer sketching.Knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology and material applicationAdvanced knowledge of furniture, fixture and equipment (FF&E), architectural/interior finishes, lighting, art signage, color and materials to carryout design intent.Knowledge of building regulations and safety codes particularly as they apply to Healthcare spaces and projectsAdvanced knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, drawings, and models.Advanced knowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines.Knowledge of buildingSMART and Building Information Modeling (BIM)Proven ability to prioritize in order to meet deadlines and provide high quality service to clients.Proficiency in the basic technical skills of interior design including the following computer skills:Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.Proficiency in Revit requiredAdvanced Proficienc in Affinity, Sketchup, and Photoshop graphic software.Knowledge of 3D Modeling software such as 3D Studio Max and Viz 2006.Ability to effectively meet deadlines.Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.Ability to work in team environment.OTHER:Travel may be required.Overtime will be required.The job duties and requirements that this document describes may be altered or supplemented at any time at the sole discretion of HOK.

  Qualifications

  EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Requires a Bachelor's degree in interior design or foreign equivalentPrior experience in Healthcare projects requiredLEED credential required within 12 months of employment.
